Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room Scrub/Circulate position requiring cataract and small community hospital experience.
Details
Work in a critical access community hospital's Surgical Services department with 2 operating rooms and a procedure room
Mostly outpatient procedures with limited inpatient cases
Services include general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain, and endoscopy procedures
Patient population is adults and geriatric patients ages 16 and older
Days shift, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, 4x8hr shifts per week
Weekend call required approximately 1 weekend per month with 1-hour call back time
Weekday on-call required 2-3 days per week with 1-hour call back time
Requirements
Active VT RN license or compact license, willingness to obtain VT license prior to start required
Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
Minimum 2-5 years of RN experience required
Cataract experience required
Both scrubbing and circulating experience required
Experience working in a smaller OR facility required
Phase I/PACU experience required
Multiple surgical specialty experience required
Cerner EMR experience required
BSN preferred
Travel nursing experience highly preferred
Additional Information
Functions as a key member of the surgical team in both circulating and scrubbing capacities
Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code
Candidates must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation in this small community
Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
Must be willing to work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
All requested time off must be submitted and verified prior to consideration, with no more than 5 days of RTO accepted
8-hour non-billable orientation required
