Description

American Traveler is seeking an RRT with RRT certification and critical care experience for a night shift Respiratory Therapist position.

Details

• Work in a hospital respiratory therapy department
• Night shift hours, 530p-6a
• Weekend rotation per unit schedule
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC accredited program required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• Current RRT certification required
• State RCP license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• IN state license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of total respiratory care experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
• Experience performing pulmonary function tests
• Strong critical thinking and documentation skills

Additional Information

• Initiate respiratory protocols and evaluate all modalities of therapy
• Serve as a member of the patient care team to assess, develop care plans, and assist with discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education on medications and therapy modalities
• Perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, airway management, ventilator management, and oximetry
• Perform Pulmonary Function Tests following ATS criteria
• Maintain neat and accurate documentation, including charge entry and supply monitoring
• Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for new respiratory care orientees
• Participate in hospital and department councils and meetings
