Step 1 - Hourly Rate $18.95

Desirable :
- Previous experience with children in a learning situation
- Ability to take directions
Responsibilities :
The responsibilities of a SBH Assistant includes but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in active therapy programs
- Assist in physical education programs
- Assist students loading and unloading on buses
- Assist students during lunch and recreational activities
- Assist in the classroom
- Understand and maintain academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the certified teacher
- Assist students as needed in order to fulfill their educational needs
- Maintain written records on a daily basis
- Attends in-service training
- Performs other duties as assigned
Applicants for the above positions are REQUIRED to be Highly Qualified which is defined as: Two (2) years of college (Minimum of 48 Semester Hours or 72 Quarter Hours) or possess an Associates Degree or passed the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam.
Applicants must submit a copy of their Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam results or a copy of their college transcript(s) to verify their Highly Qualified Status. Applicants must also have a valid Educational Aide Permit or obtain one immediately upon being employed with the Canton City School District. If you do not meet the criteria for Highly Qualified you are not eligible to apply.
