A vertically integrated real estate development and construction company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations across a diverse portfolio of development, construction, quarry, and property management entities. You’ll work closely with department leaders across construction, development, quarry operations, and property management while also serving as a key financial resource to executive leadership. Core Responsibilities. Oversee accounting operations across approximately 15 LLCs Manage entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Maintain and manage a complex, multi-division chart of accounts Ensure accurate accounting for construction projects, land development activities, acquisitions, and ongoing property operations Oversee job costing and project accounting across construction and site development projects Manage lender reporting, draw requests, loan compliance, and banking relationships Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis Partner with department heads to develop and manage annual operating budgets Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysis Assist leadership with forecasting, capital planning, and cash flow management Prepare financial analyses and reports to support executive decision-making Team Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise and mentor accounting staff across multiple functions Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Help build scalable financial infrastructure to support organizational growth Coordinate with external CPAs regarding audits, tax preparation, and compliance Insurance & Risk Management Manage the company’s commercial insurance portfolio including: General liability Property insurance Coordinate renewals, audits, claims, and certificates of insurance Identify potential coverage gaps and evolving risk exposures Serve as a trusted financial resource to ownership and executive leadership Assist with personal financial organization and coordination with outside advisors as needed Support special projects, ad hoc financial reporting, and strategic planning initiatives What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience Background in real estate development, construction, or property management Experience working within multi-entity environments strongly preferred Strong understanding of: Job costing Construction accounting Property management accounting Intercompany accounting Experience with loan administration, lender reporting, and draw processes Proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar systems Advanced Excel skills and comfort working within complex charts of accounts Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity Preferred Experience Familiarity with LLC structures and intercompany accounting Experience supporting executive-level personal financial matters Background working within entrepreneurial or owner-operated organizations Ideal Backgrounds This opportunity is especially well suited for professionals coming from: Property management organizations Multi-entity family-owned businesses If you’re looking for a leadership role where you can have a direct impact on company operations, work closely with ownership, and help shape the financial future of a growing organization, this opportunity offers an exceptional combination of visibility, stability, and long-term growth potential. #J-18808-Ljbffr Engtal
