Account Executive, Commercial Lines

Job Overview The Account Executive is responsible for managing and expanding an assigned book of business by building strong client relationships and delivering proactive, consultative service. The role supports Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business and oversees all aspects of account management, including program design, carrier marketing, negotiation, risk‑control coordination, and collaboration with HUB colleagues to ensure high‑quality service delivery. Responsibilities Serve as primary consultant to the client on assigned accounts and oversee the management of the account, retaining the account and acting as the de‑facto technical expert and broker‑consultant. Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with executives and other decision makers for clients and with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk‑control staff. Support Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business; assume primary relationship‑management responsibilities when appropriate. Oversee and coordinate the delivery of all HUB services—including stewardship reports, risk control, carrier meetings, claims reviews, coverage outlines, and marketing for new and renewal placements—to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Collaborate with Account Team colleagues and HUB resources to deliver client services while coaching, training, and mentoring team members. Conduct annual client reviews and provide coverage, risk‑mitigation, and loss‑control recommendations aimed at reducing total cost of risk. Manage the HUB Top 20% process and participate in Critical Path meetings to support strategic account oversight. Identify opportunities for cross‑sell and up‑sell of other HUB products and services when appropriate for the clients’ needs. Document other insurance products and services the clients are purchasing through other providers and who those providers are. Monitor and support resolution of significant claims through active collaboration with HUB and carrier claims teams. Apply advanced knowledge of HUB tools, industry resources, and best practices to manage complex or high‑profile accounts effectively. Maintain current receivable status for assigned accounts, proactively pursue collection of past‑due balances, and document unresolved items for accounting review. Ensure compliance with HUB procedures and federal/state insurance regulations. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma / GED with 7+ years of insurance industry experience (brokage preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Property & Casualty license. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers. Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to develop and evaluate solutions to complex problems. Strong client‑relationship skills and the ability to work with insurance and service vendors. Team‑work and coaching capabilities. Organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Mathematical skills to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. Leadership capabilities, a growth mindset, and the ability to drive efficiencies and revenue growth. Working Conditions & Physical Demands This position primarily involves a stationary work environment, frequent communication with colleagues and clients, use of a computer and office equipment, and occasional light office movement.
