Position Overview

Modern Group is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Capital & Aftermarket Sales Representative to drive new business and grow existing customer relationships throughout Berks, Schuylkill, and surrounding counties . This position will be based out of our Reading, PA branch.

This is a B2B outside sales role responsible for both capital equipment and aftermarket sales , including new and used equipment, parts, service, maintenance, and related solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in outside sales and strong relationship-building skills, with experience in material handling, construction equipment, industrial equipment, rental, or a similar industry preferred .

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new accounts, expanding existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted resource for customers throughout the life of their equipment.

Compensation

• Base salary starting at $65,000+ , based on experience and expertise, plus commission
• Employee ownership through Modern Group's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full sales process for new and used material handling and industrial equipment , including forklifts and related equipment
• Develop and grow aftermarket sales , including service, repairs, planned maintenance (PM) programs, maintenance contracts, parts, and other customer solutions
• Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and other sales activities
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts while developing long-term business relationships
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment, parts, service, and maintenance solutions
• Prepare and present product specifications, equipment proposals, repair and service quotes, leasing proposals, and other sales materials
• Conduct regular customer visits throughout the assigned territory, primarily covering Berks and Schuylkill counties , with additional surrounding areas as needed
• Follow up with customers throughout the sales cycle and maintain ongoing relationships after the sale
• Identify opportunities to increase customer spend through additional equipment, service, parts, and maintenance solutions
• Collaborate with branch management, service, parts, and other departments to provide a seamless customer experience
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and documentation using Microsoft Office and company systems

Qualifications

• 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience required
• Experience in material handling, construction equipment, industrial equipment, rental, or a related technical sales environment preferred
• Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing customer accounts
• Experience selling both capital equipment and/or aftermarket products and services preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Mechanical aptitude or technical product knowledge strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant sales experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory
