Traveling Drinking Water Treatment Specialist

Who We Are Looking For Woodard & Curran is hiring an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Specialist to support several drinking water treatment facilities in the eastern New England region. In this role you will perform operation and maintenance of assigned treatment, mechanical, and electrical equipment, evaluate maintenance and ensure Asset Management practices are implemented, respond to emergency calls, and provide technical assistance for process control changes. Responsibilities Work with Operations Leader, Area Managers and Project Managers to support project demands with routine & corrective maintenance, capital planning, process control improvements, and training staff on industry standard maintenance practices. Provide technical support and training onsite to implement the Asset Management Program. Assist with preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency repairs. Support instrument calibrations and upgrades. Utilize W&C technical platforms for data collection (Utility Cloud Hach WIMS, Do Forms, Power BI, etc.). Interpret and update GIS maps, plant plans, and specifications. Provide O&M support at water, wastewater, and/or industrial treatment facilities. Travel Requirements The position requires travel primarily in eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and southern Maine, with occasional travel elsewhere in the United States. You will be required to travel a minimum of 75% of the year, mostly regionally focused in eastern Massachusetts. Qualifications Solid maintenance background, including relevant certifications and licenses. Knowledge of the drinking water treatment industry (equipment, controls, and processes). Experience inspecting, assessing, reporting, repairing, and maintaining sanitary sewer mains, manholes, lift stations, and distribution system components. Proficiency with business intelligence systems (e.g., Power BI) is a plus. Experience with artificial intelligence systems and implementation is a plus. Experience with utility technology software, including Hach’s Water Information Management System (Hach WIMS), is a plus. Willingness to travel and support emergency event repair and recovery efforts. Knowledge of predictive maintenance equipment and best practices is a plus. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. All successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-placement background check, drug screen, and physical before employment. Compensation $75,000 - $95,000 a year. The pay range is based on experience and licensure. This is a salaried position with some hours over 40/week that are eligible for straight hourly overtime pay.
