Pharmacy Technician (CPhT / ExCPT)Location: Orlando, Florida (Multi-Site Assignment) Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000 annually Work Schedule: TBD based on clinic assignment Position Overview: Federal Contract Support RolePosition SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician provides technical support to licensed pharmacists within the Orlando VA Healthcare System, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution to Veterans. This position supports both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations across multiple VA facilities and requires strict adherence to federal regulations, VA policies, and established pharmacy procedures.Duty LocationsThe selected candidate may be assigned to one or more of the following Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities:Orlando VA Medical Center – Orlando, FLLake Baldwin VA Clinic – Orlando, FLViera VA Clinic – Viera, FLDaytona Beach VA Clinic – Daytona Beach, FL Note: Travel between duty locations may be required based on operational needs.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:Receive, interpret, process, and fill prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistUtilize VA-approved pharmacy systems and automated dispensing equipmentEnter, verify, and update patient prescription information in electronic health recordsMaintain appropriate inventory levels, including medication storage, restocking, and expiration date monitoringSupport pharmacy operations in both inpatient and outpatient settingsIdentify and report discrepancies, malfunctions, or workflow issues to supervisory personnelEnsure compliance with all applicable federal regulations, VA directives, and facility policiesMaintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA guidelinesMinimum QualificationsTo be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:Certification: Active and current CPhT (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA)Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare settingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and dosage formsFamiliarity with pharmacy systems and automated dispensing technologyStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environmentEffective organizational and communication skillsConditions of EmploymentMust successfully pass a federal background investigation and credentialing processMust comply with all VA onboarding and security requirementsMust not be listed on the OIG exclusion listMust be eligible to work on a federal contractAbility to work at multiple locations as requiredWork EnvironmentThis position is performed in a clinical healthcare setting within VA facilities and may require standing for extended periods, handling medications, and working in fast-paced environments.At SHR, we utilize over thirty-five years of experience providing optimal solutions for federal agencies that are both innovative and cost-effective.
