Cloud Systems Administrator - Azure

Job Summary:

The Azure Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role involves supporting critical state agency operations in a hybrid work environment, with initial on-site presence required. The administrator will oversee cloud services, provide Tier 2 desktop support, and work closely with IT teams to automate tasks and maintain endpoint security. Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and continuously monitor Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Manage Azure services including compute, storage, networking, and security frameworks.
• Provide Tier 2 support for desktop issues and create knowledge base articles for Tier 1 Service Desk.
• Administer core infrastructure components such as DNS, Domain Controllers, and Azure Active Directory (including Hybrid Join and AAD Connect).
• Maintain Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services including SQL databases, Managed SQL instances, and Web App service plans.
• Use Azure monitoring tools like Workspace Analytics to ensure system health and security.
• Collaborate with Support Services for inventory management and asset tracking.
• Manage endpoint security and device compliance using Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device Management solutions.
• Automate administrative tasks and manage certificate life cycles and recovery vaults.
• Lead proactive vulnerability remediation efforts to secure agency systems.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
• Proficiency in Tier 2 desktop support.
• Knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS) administration.
• Experience administering Azure Active Directory and Hybrid Join configurations.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Intune.
• Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
• Experience using Azure monitoring tools such as Workspace Analytics.

Special Considerations:

• Initial 2-3 months on-site presence required in Phoenix, AZ.
• Role requires working in a hybrid environment thereafter.
• Position is contract to hire for 9 months.
