Director of Sales, Data Platform – The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industry sectors and cloud data platform solutions and a passion for helping customers transition to the Cloud. This role requires knowledge of the marketplace and focus on selling business outcomes at the C-level through Oracle's Cloud portfolio into vertical markets. It is a leadership role that includes managing a team of Data Platform sellers.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the region’s sales, third‑party alliances, and customer satisfaction surrounding Oracle's growing Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services portfolio.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to improve Oracle's opportunities across all products and product lines.
• Manage and develop a team of sales representatives, including recruiting, hiring, and training new reps on the Oracle sales process.
• Sell and promote Oracle products to customers, including negotiating price, other concessions and terms and conditions of the sale.
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning for the division.
• Build effective working relationships with license, consulting and education field managers in the territory to develop joint account plans.
• Develop and execute a territory plan to maximize revenue, generate and achieve monthly territory forecasts, and accurately predict revenue on a monthly basis.
• Manage escalation and conduct weekly progress meetings with the sales team.
• Assist in the development of short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
• Interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met and influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technology / cloud sales management experience.
• Ability to hire and train top talent and new sales representatives.
• Ability to resolve customer satisfaction issues and prioritize customer needs.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to large and small audiences.
• Ability to negotiate price, concessions and terms and conditions.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Experience selling data solutions, public cloud infrastructure or strongly related services at other cloud‑based companies.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of enterprise direct sales experience with large quotas and proven success.
• 5 years leading and managing a sales team of technology sales professionals and supporting functions such as inside sales, pre‑sales engineers, cloud, marketing and channels.
• 5 years’ experience navigating long sales cycles in a matrix environment with demonstrated experience in complex commercial structures.
• Experience selling outsourcing solutions or services to vertical industries (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail, Telecom, etc.) and specific knowledge of business drivers and adoption patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to influence different buying personas (LOB executives, IT, operations, development, etc.) within Fortune 500 enterprises.
• Expert understanding and ability to effectively evangelize multiple cloud adoption patterns including hybrid, data center and application modernization, re-platforming, cloud native, web‑scale and high‑availability.
• Practical understanding of the concepts surrounding DevOps, continuous integration, micro‑services and their impact on organizational change.
• B.S. or B.A. from a major university – engineering or computer science preferred.
• Strong public‑speaking ability with desire to train others and continue to learn.

Compensation & Benefits

US: Hiring Range in USD from $122,200 to $270,800 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 45/55.
