TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Franklin, Indiana, 46131!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: MedSurg, PCU, Tele, or CCU experience; able to float within MS scope of practice Description: The unit has 34 beds. Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Night shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Nurses are not required to titrate drips. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, CHF, orthopedic issues, appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, bowel resection, and pancreatitis. There are patient care technicians available on both shifts with a maximum ratio of 1:12. Chronic BiPAP and CPAP equipment is utilized on the unit. Remote monitoring is available for telemetry. Monitor technicians are present to provide analysis, and nurses are not responsible for interpretation of telemetry strips. Self-scheduling is encouraged based on census and staffing availability. A weekend rotation is required, currently requiring 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Holiday shifts are assigned based on the calendar. If a shift is canceled, nurses may be placed on call with a 45-minute response time required upon notification. Scrub colors are navy blue. The unit requires one shift of clinical nursing education followed by two shifts on the unit with a preceptor for orientation. Charting is done using the Cerner system.
