Counselor Internship

Location The internship program will perform duties at client service-oriented programs including secured facilities, residential programs and/or scattered site housing around the greater Tampa Bay area. Responsibilities Complete admission and orientation documentation; may administer or interpret screening/assessment instruments. Develop treatment or service plans, which include services to accomplish. Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling. Make referrals to community resources, including social, legal and educational providers. Attend scheduled interdisciplinary treatment team meetings or clinical supervisory sessions and discuss aspects of client care and progress; may participate in other meetings/events as assigned. Report crisis situations and treatment needs of clients to clinical personnel and supervisor; recognize client comprehensive needs and discuss with interdisciplinary treatment team. Requirements Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field and working under a formal learning contract or similar agreement with a university. Eligibility status, as determined by Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 435 and/or Local Law.
