Job Summary This Clinician position is located in Irvington, NY. The role involves the preparation of goal-oriented diagnostic assessments, group counseling, staff training, and program enrichment. The Clinician will provide clinical guidance to Case Managers and Youth Specialist staff, participate in treatment team meetings concerning mental health and behavior management, and support the welfare of program youth. Salary: $80,000.00 - $83,400.00 General Responsibilities Coordinate and provide individual and group counseling services to address youth behaviors, concerns, and progress in reference to overall bio-psychosocial functioning. Oversee and execute all therapeutic requirements for the program as assigned. Attend staffing meetings and present knowledgeable information on assigned cases. Check in with assigned children twice a day (morning and evening). Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary. Conduct initial intake and assessment for safety and trafficking concerns within 48 hours of a child’s arrival. Utilize positive child management techniques, including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and physical containment, and reinforce positive behavior with appropriate incentives while maintaining boundaries. Provide weekly individual counseling to youth and ongoing crisis intervention. Gather and document all necessary social, medical, and educational information on each child promptly. Complete all ORR assessments in the portal timely. Accompany children to outside service providers when necessary. Maintain clinical records and progress notes and submit monthly updates. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to provide mental health and educational updates. Provide flexible evening hours and on-call clinical support as required. Attend and complete all mandated ORR & Abbott House training on a timely basis. Perform any other related duties as required. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen, taste, or smell regularly. Walk frequently and sometimes keep balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Operate a computer, learn software programs, use fax, copier, scanner, and other office equipment. Speak, read, and write fluently in English. Write in English using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Lifting: frequently 0–25 lbs., occasionally 25–50 lbs., rarely over 50 lbs. Push/pull: frequently 0–25 lbs., occasionally 26–45 lbs., rarely over 45 lbs. Sit, stand, and walk throughout the work day. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching as described. Work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, which may increase due to participant activity. Qualifications Master Level – MA, MS, MSW, MMHC. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in child welfare. Knowledge of child welfare/child protective services. Experience with Evidence-Based Models. Strong interest in working with children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong clinical, communication, and presentation skills, including facilitation of training.
