We're seeking an experienced Value Stream Manager to lead all operational activities within a key production value stream. You'll be responsible for delivering world-class performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee engagement while developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.

Description

Operational Leadership

• Lead daily operations across the assigned value stream to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.
• Align staffing, resources, and production capacity with customer demand and business priorities.
• Ensure successful execution of production schedules and operational plans.
• Identify manufacturing constraints and implement solutions that improve throughput, efficiency, and workflow.
• Drive operational performance through effective planning, communication, and leadership.

People Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop Supervisors and frontline manufacturing teams.
• Build a culture centred on accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Develop leadership capability and succession plans within the value stream.
• Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
• Foster a positive work environment focused on employee growth and performance.

Continuous Improvement

• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence initiatives.
• Utilise KPIs and operational metrics to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other departments to improve business performance.
• Lead projects focused on productivity improvements, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process optimisation.

Business Performance

• Own and drive key operational metrics including:
  • Safety

  • On-Time Delivery
  • Productivity
  • Cost Control
  • Inventory Management
  • Employee Engagement
• Develop action plans to address performance gaps and achieve business objectives.
• Ensure consistent execution and accountability throughout the value stream.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading supervisors and manufacturing teams within a production environment.
• Previous experience in aerospace, defence, industrial manufacturing, or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success improving operational performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence practices.
• Experience managing production schedules, workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity management.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence teams at all levels.
• Results-driven mindset with experience managing KPI performance and achieving business objectives.
