Bilingual (Spanish/English) EMT-P

Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, coordinate with the Center Physician, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support HepatitisB and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned, including EMT‑Paramedic, CPR and AED certification, and basic IV therapy. Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for a BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (U.S. – TX – San Antonio).
