Description
  • Perform evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that effectively address both immediate and long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to construct unified care approaches.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress beyond the clinical setting.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the therapeutic journey.
  • Document patient progress with accuracy following state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing learning through interdisciplinary collaboration and keeping up with advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment commencement.
Skills
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based treatments for a variety of age groups, along with a robust understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities for effective interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Adept at adapting therapy methods to suit diverse cultural and linguistic requirements.
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving prowess.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with documentation protocols.
