Claims Adjuster

Job Summary SWBC is seeking a talented individual to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate auto claims, CPI and GAP, to determine the extent of liability by interpreting and calculating settlement. They will be responsible for issuing settlement payments to the named insured and performing functions associated with disposition and settlement of claims and inquiries related to insurance claims for multiple lines of business and more complex coverage types of CPI and GAP. Position: Full‑time (last updated 4 days ago) Responsibilities Gather and assemble pertinent claim information by contacting lenders, auto dealers, borrowers, and/or agents. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation for processing. Calculate claim proceeds in accordance with the Master Policy coverage by analyzing and reviewing borrower's loan history, MSRP/NADA valuations, appraisals, and primary carrier's coverage documentation. Refer non‑payable claims to the insurance carrier, as necessary, and complete appropriate documentation for each file. Enter all payments for settlements, expenses, and fees in the claims system. Resolve lender or borrower claim questions regarding claim status and resolution. Maintain an effective claims management diary to ensure all claims are handled promptly. Produce claim activity reports for management. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing similar duties required. Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic 10‑key calculator touch skills. Able to use basic office equipment, including copy machine, personal computer, and fax. Able to type 45 WPM. Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Able to perform all required claims handling tasks. Must be a self‑starter. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Texas Property & Casualty License required (or obtainable within 30 days). Able to sit for long periods of time performing sedentary activities. Able to stand, stoop, and kneel to file for long periods of time. Able to push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs. of files, supplies, documents, or other related items.
