Summary The Assistant Store Manager will lead the store team and partner with the Store Manager to provide the highest level of connection and focus to each guest that enters a melin store. They will open and close the store, handle operational procedures, inventory management, manage the POS system, and maintain the store while providing exceptional customer service and fostering a team environment. Operations / Sales / Customer Service Partner with Store Manager to manage store financials by driving sales through a premium guest experience, coaching best‑in‑class sales experts, and running an effective operational system that aligns with the melin Culture and Retail Operating Principles. Manage and execute store product flow, back of house operations, supply needs, and daily store maintenance. Assist the Store Manager with staff hiring, onboarding, and training. Deliver strong interpersonal and communication skills, independent work ethic, excellent time management, and organizational abilities. Support Store Manager with store marketing event activations. Execute seasonal floor sets and visual merchandising directives within the store and maintain visual standards and brand image daily. Product Knowledge Be the product expert, understand customer needs, share product knowledge, and guide customers to selections that meet their needs. Maintain extensive product knowledge, support all client inquiries, stay aware of competition and what melin brings to the market, and creatively communicate selections. Share product knowledge with staff and provide coaching on product and selling techniques to foster team productivity. Maintain a positive, outgoing, high‑energy, entrepreneurial, sales‑focused attitude. POS Expert Manage POS issues, reconcile till, process returns, exchanges, gift cards, and discounts accurately. Manage Staff Lead by example, support, and train the melin premium guest experience. Motivate and inspire staff with enthusiasm on the sales floor. Assist Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and career development in collaboration with Corporate HR. Open/close the shop independently. Manage staff schedules, including time off, coverage swaps, daily breaks, and lunch coverage. Support employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance check‑ins. Inventory Properly merchandise and re‑merchandise all items in the store. Assist in inventory management, monthly cycle counts, restocking, and receiving new product. Identify inventory gaps and place replenishment orders. Be able to lift up to 15 pounds and use ladders or stairs as needed. Events / Marketing Support all store events, be present unless approved otherwise. Promote events professionally and responsibly. Conceive, execute, and manage at least one unique event per quarter for the flagship location. Goals Lead the sales team to deliver great customer service and build customer loyalty. Continuously improve sales and customer service processes. Create the most unique and interesting retail store that reflects melin’s values. Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 2 years retail experience, 1 year of management experience. College degree is a plus, but retail experience and results count. Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Self‑motivated leader with strong entrepreneurial skills. Innate guest‑centric mindset. Elevated communication skills and ability to tailor style to the audience. Willing to take on Store Manager responsibilities in their absence.
