Job Summary The Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the safety protocols and maintenance of equipment used in our manufacturing and construction operations. This role involves conducting regular safety inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs on specialized equipment such as gantry and jib cranes, wheelabrator, forming rolls, industrial dust collectors, CNC plasma cutting machine, and press brakes to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures in compliance with industry regulations. Train employees in proper equipment usage. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on specialized equipment including gantry and jib cranes, wheelabrator, forming rolls, industrial dust collectors, CNC plasma cutting machine, and press brakes. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment performance. Collaborate with the operations team to identify and address potential safety hazards. Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition and meets safety standards.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs with external vendors if necessary. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in safety and maintenance practices. Perform other shop duties as needed depending on workload and company needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred. Proven experience in equipment maintenance within the manufacturing or heavy construction industry. Experience with operating and maintaining high-powered (480V) equipment. Experience with welding and weld equipment. Proven ability to create preventative maintenance plans for older equipment. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
