Job Title: Project Manager - Structural Steel/Misc. Metals About the Construction Company / The Opportunity: Join a growing company in the construction industry specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection. This hands-on Project Manager opportunity oversees projects from award through closeout, coordinating teams across estimating, purchasing, production, field operations, and customer service. You’ll help deliver safe, high-quality work on schedule and within budget while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Manage structural and miscellaneous steel projects from contract award through final completion. Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope to confirm project requirements. Develop and maintain schedules with fabrication, purchasing, field teams, and subcontractors. Monitor project budgets, costs, labor hours, invoices, and material expenses. Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, approvals, and project documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and vendors. Identify project risks, delays, and cost impacts, and develop solutions to keep work on track. Coordinate fabrication and installation while supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Must-Have Skills: At least 2 years of project management experience in steel fabrication, construction, metal manufacturing, or an industrial environment. Strong understanding of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or construction project workflows. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, contracts, and specifications. Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, budgets, and project documentation simultaneously.Proficiency with project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office, including Excel. Strong organization, time management, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills, with experience working alongside general contractors, fabricators, and subcontractors. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Nice-to-Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Experience coordinating steel fabrication schedules and field erection crews. Experience with project forecasting, workload planning, staffing, and material requirements.
