It ensures that spatial data is created, maintained, and shared to help guide statewide decisions. As a Transportation Planning Manager, you will perform the following duties:GIS Oversight: Guide the creation, maintenance, and analysis of spatial data for planning and engineeringStaff Management: Direct specialists and coach team members to use the best available dataSoftware Utilization: Manage the use of geographic information system software tools to produce maps, graphics, and spatial productsCoordination Efforts: Work with internal and external groups to support GIS distribution, training, and communicationData Integration: Evaluate and integrate external spatial data sets to improve cartographic and geospatial functionsStrategic Support: Assist leaders with implementing division initiatives and improving GIS operationsInterested in learning more? In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orOne year of experience as a Transportation Planning Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orThree years of professional transportation planning, transportation administration, or transportation engineering experience, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:This particular position also requires a minimum of one year of experience in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).You must meet the PA residency requirement.
