Marketing Coordinator

As Marketing Coordinator, you'll support marketing initiatives across a wide range of areas, including social media, content, SEO, email, demand generation, automation, events, and brand. The role supports the execution of marketing initiatives across every channel, helps keep systems and workflows running smoothly, and supports efforts to make LayerCake Technologies a recognized and trusted MSP brand.

The role calls for someone who is curious, resourceful, eager to learn, comfortable jumping into new tools and projects, and able to bring positive energy, strong follow-through, and a team-first mindset to a fast-moving environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the Marketing & Brand Manager across the marketing mix, including social, content, SEO, email, automation, and events.
• Assist in executing the company's brand strategy, messaging, and visual identity across all channels.
• Help maintain HubSpot, including list segmentation, campaign setup, workflow management, and reporting.
• Draft and publish content for social media, blogs, and websites.
• Support SEO efforts through keyword research, on-page optimization, and backlink building.
• Coordinate logistics, materials, and follow-up for trade shows and events.

Social Media & Content

• Help plan, create, and schedule content across social channels.
• Support community engagement through moderation, commenting, and sharing.

SEO, Web & Digital Support

• Support SEO best practices to help the website increase ranking, citations, and mentions.
• Assist with website updates, page builds, and site performance monitoring.
• Support digital campaigns across search, social, display, and email.

Workflows & Automation

• Build and maintain marketing workflows, automations, and task boards in HubSpot and Asana.
• Help keep the marketing calendar organized and projects moving on schedule.
• Support sales sequences and lead nurture campaigns.

Email Marketing

• Assist with testing and building strategies that grow the subscriber database.
• Work with team members to create content for monthly newsletters.

Trade Shows & Events

• Coordinate logistics, shipping, and materials for trade shows and company events.
• Support booth setup, swag ordering, and collateral management.

Brand Management

• Help maintain a consistent, compelling brand voice across every touchpoint.
• Champion LayerCake's culture and core values in daily work and client interactions.

Qualifications include:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of marketing experience, or equivalent internship experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment with ownership.
• Team player who brings energy and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.

Preferred

• Working knowledge of HubSpot or similar marketing automation tools.
• Experience with Semrush, Moz, Ahrefs, or other SEO tools.
• Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools.
• Love for a good pun and an even better attitude.

Performance expectations include:

• AI Mentions and Citations — month-over-month growth
• Social Media Engagement — month-over-month growth
• New Email Subscribers — month-over-month growth
• New Leads, both offline and online — month-over-month growth

These outcomes represent shared, aspirational benchmarks subject to annual mutual review. Finalized, binding performance goals will be established collaboratively with the direct manager.

Work environment and availability include:

• This position may be in-office, hybrid, or fully remote depending on business needs; in-office or hybrid arrangements are preferred when possible.
• Regardless of work location, a professional work environment with reliable high-speed internet sufficient for video conferencing, screen sharing, and continuous access to company systems is expected.
• Standard business hours with flexibility.
• Periodic travel is required for regional office visits, trade shows, and company events.

Physical and mental requirements include:

• Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment.
• Talk and hear.
• See and read.
• Write and interpret written documents.
• Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
