Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Duke Primary Care – Pediatrics Cary Location: Durham, NC 27710 Work Arrangement: Permanent Requisition Number: 270838 About the role: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The LPN will assist physicians and nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures, support the medical team in patient assessments, and help maintain a safe care environment. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Current North Carolina or Compact licensure. Obtain NC licensure within 90 days if holding a multi‑state compact license. BLS certification. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide and document nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Assist physicians and nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures. Evaluate nursing care, assist in patient response assessment, and aid in determining nursing priorities. Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Maintain the care environment, including equipment and material resources. Identify operational performance improvements and participate in related activities. Assist in control and maintenance of material resources and report equipment malfunctions. Participate in in‑service education programs and other conferences. Assist in training new employees. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
