Radiology Technologist

Job Summary Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Manager, this position produces quality diagnostic medical radiographs, including OR, Fluoro, Dexa, or EOS, to ensure proper diagnosis and quality patient care. Worker Type PRN Job Responsibilities and Requirements Position Accountabilities Produce quality images using appropriate exposure technique to ensure proper penetration of the area being radiographed. Use metal markers or electronically place markers appropriately. Document an appropriate patient history containing pertinent patient information regarding their condition and including patient limitations. Verify physician orders prior to exam start. Perform OR/surgery cases using C-arms and portable machines efficiently. Supervise and teach radiology students during clinical rotations, providing feedback to the clinical educator. Communicate technical information in an appropriate manner to patients and co‑workers. Respond to changes in workload using departmental advantage. Maintain work area clean and orderly, adhere to safety, infection control, and radiation safety protocols, and wear radiation dosimetry badge. Attend departmental in‑services and meetings, including orientations and required in‑services. Perform other duties as appropriate and maintain a professional attitude. Practice universal precautions, dispose of hazardous waste per guidelines, and maintain a safe environment per hospital standards. Participate in continuing education: obtain 24 CE points every two years per ASRT regulation, and maintain good standing rating with ASRT. Provide service excellence: demonstrate respect, compassion, confidentiality, teamwork, HIPAA compliance, and knowledgeable service. Incorporate quality improvement activities: review QI/QA/QC items monthly, provide data and input to management. Use Hospital/Radiology Information system: enter and edit exams correctly, keep status updates within 30 minutes, support colleagues, and manage consent forms. Provide age‑appropriate care for school‑age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Specifications Minimum Education: Graduate of a Radiology Technology program and registry eligible. Minimum Experience: Two years Radiology Technology experience preferred. Required Courses: BLS. Working Conditions: Exposure to blood and body fluids and other biological hazards; varying or unpredictable situations. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift/push/pull 100+ pounds, transfer patients, and handle radiographic equipment. Required Professional Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); ARRT‑R Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
