Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive / Heavy-Duty Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive, commercial, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and ensure all repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Overtime is available but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and braking systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Use diagnostic scanners, meters, and other specialized equipment to identify faults.
  • Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, axles, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
  • Perform DOT/commercial vehicle inspections as required.
  • Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Document repairs, parts used, labor performed, and vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations to supervisors, service advisors, or customers.
  • Assist with roadside/emergency repairs when required.
  • Perform road tests and verify that repairs have been completed properly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of automotive, diesel, fleet, or heavy-duty repair experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine systems.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CDL and/or applicable inspection certifications are a plus.
  • ASE or manufacturer certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work around heavy equipment and vehicles.
