About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Medicine Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 3x12-Hour, Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC required Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Telemetry test passage required prior to start Description: Eve/Night shifts of 12 hours. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Patient care for both adult and pediatric populations in an Emergency Department setting. Candidates must have experience in a high acuity environment. The department provides urgent and emergent care with a full team of subspecialists. Patients with complex conditions are treated effectively using evidence-based practices. Rapid emergency response to critically ill and injured patients is a priority. Minimum of 20 patients per day expected. Support services include IV teams, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Normal patient ratios during days and nights are up to 4 patients per nurse. Travelers might be required to float to other areas as needed. Strict compliance with testing requirements and certification validation will be enforced. Candidates must display proficiency with telemetry and critical care scenarios. Delivery of care includes management of acute psychosis, trauma, seizures, and more. Experience in trauma centers preferred. Communication and coordination with ambulance services for patient transfer is essential. We recognize the importance of teamwork in high-pressure situations. Mental and behavioral health conditions are a part of the patient demographic. Procedural sedation administration and monitoring are required skills. The role may require the performance of complex clinical procedures and assessments.
