We are looking for a Industrial Electrician to help support that mission.JOB SUMMARYThis position serves as the in-house electrical authority across 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing, fabrication, and warehouse operations. The Industrial Electrician will own the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and strategic planning of all electrical systems supporting CPS&S production. This is not a task-chasing role. You will replace outsourced contractor dependency with embedded expertise, institutional knowledge, and the judgment to prioritize work that drives uptime, safety, and long-term reliability across an increasingly automated and networked manufacturing environment.RESPONSIBILITIESElectrical Systems OwnershipInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems across all facilities including 480V three-phase distribution, motor control centers, transformers, disconnects, and branch circuitsOwn and maintain panel schedules, one-line diagrams, and as-built documentation for all electrical infrastructurePerform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems, including thermal imaging, insulation resistance testing, and connection torque verificationDiagnose and resolve electrical faults on production equipment including CNC machines, VFDs, servo drives, PLCs, and automated material handling systemsEnsure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and local code requirements; serve as the internal authority on electrical complianceStrategic Planning & PrioritizationEvaluate and prioritize electrical work requests based on production impact, safety risk, and strategic valueDevelop and maintain a proactive electrical maintenance schedule aligned with production calendars and planned downtime windowsAssess facility electrical capacity and plan for future load growth driven by new equipment, automation, and technology deploymentsProvide cost-benefit input on repair-vs-replace decisions and capital project scopingIdentify recurring electrical failure modes and drive permanent corrective actions rather than repeated break-fixEquipment Integration & Modernization SupportSupport installation and commissioning of new production equipment, including power drops, control wiring, and communication networksCollaborate with the Operations & Technology team on IoT sensor deployments, network infrastructure expansion, and control system integrationProvide electrical expertise during equipment evaluations, vendor discussions, and capital planningSupport the transition from reactive to condition-based maintenance practices for critical electrical assetsSafety, Compliance & DocumentationMaintain strict adherence to LOTO procedures, arc flash safety protocols, and NFPA 70E requirementsKeep electrical documentation current including panel schedules, circuit identification, equipment connection diagrams, and maintenance recordsTrain and mentor maintenance staff and operators on basic electrical safety and first-line troubleshooting where appropriateCoordinate with outside contractors and inspectors when specialized work or permitting is requiredBenefitsCompetitive PayMedical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance401k with company matchPaid Time OffTraining & Professional DevelopmentPositive and productive work environmentQUALIFICATIONSRequiredJourneyman Electrician license (or equivalent state certification); Master Electrician preferredMinimum 7 years of industrial/manufacturing electrical experienceDeep working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety standardsProven experience with three-phase power distribution (208V/480V/600V), motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control panelsAbility to read, interpret, and red-line electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and control drawingsDemonstrated ability to prioritize work based on operational impact, not just urgencyStrong troubleshooting methodology: systematic root cause analysis, not shotgun parts replacementMust live in or be willing to relocate to the Kansas City, Missouri areaPreferredExperience in discrete manufacturing environments (fabrication, assembly, paint systems)Familiarity with Salvagnini, Trumpf, Amada, or similar CNC sheet metal equipmentExperience with industrial networking (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinet) and PLC communicationsExposure to building automation systems (HVAC controls, lighting controls, energy management)OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety trainingExperience scoping electrical work for capital projects and providing input to project budgetsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWORK CONDITIONSPhysical Demands/Work Environment:This position regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work includes exposure to a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, dust, and confined spaces. Steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and arc-rated clothing required as appropriate.
