Associate Designer, Textiles - West Elm

About the Role As an Associate Designer, you will work closely with the Director and category Designers to execute the design and development of textile products for the West Elm brand. You will be responsible for helping to develop seasonal concepts and ensuring all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met. Responsibilities * Assist category Designers into researching new ideas, fabrications, and materials
- Present ideas and design concepts to Design Director and category designers
- Work proactively according to development calendar to stay ahead of
- Create and maintain visual line list decks and presentation decks
- Maintain and organize development samples both physically and digitally
- Consistently research industry trends to feed design inspiration and new
- Create and maintain digital concept and presentation boards
- Understanding of fabric qualities and constructions, techniques, and how they
- Degree in Textile Design or related field
- Minimum 3 years of design work experience, preferably in-home furnishings or
- Experience developing product directly with factories is a plus
- Must be highly efficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Must be skilled at CAD. And able to manipulate artwork, mockups and generate
- Passionate about design, art, color & textiles with a strong sense of color
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to change
- Extremely organized, efficient and detail-oriented – excellent calendar
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Understanding and enthusiasm for the West Elm brand
- This role requires being onsite in the New York office
