JOB DESCRIPTION


JOB GOAL:

To insure the timely delivery of commodities, materials and supplies to the District and to provide support services as requested by Manatee County schools.


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
2. Two years of warehouse related experience and meet established personnel requirements.
3. Possession of a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B w/air brakes. Possession of a valid Forklift Operators License.
4. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules. Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to perform work requiring good physical condition. Ability to load and deliver a wide variety of goods in a safe and responsible manner. Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn basic warehousing practices and procedures.

SUPERVISES:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate various delivery vehicles to include cars, vans, and heavy duty delivery trucks fitted with hydraulic lift equipment.
2. Operate various materials handling equipment to include pallet jacks (manual and electric), reach trucks, and heavy duty pallet trucks.
3. Deliver a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment to District sites.
4. Pick up and organize surplus furniture, fixtures, and equipment for redistribution to schools and/or public auction.
5. Collect and transport obsolete electronic equipment from District sites to recycling facility.
6. Deliver and pick up District testing materials.
7. Maintain records of deliveries and pick-ups as required.
8. Organize deliveries to insure efficient and cost effective operations.
9. Document the removal or transfer of asset materials from District sites providing documentation to the Property Records department.
10. Maintain cleanliness and inspect vehicles and equipment to insure safe operation.
11. Maintain cleanliness and organization of Distribution facility.
12. Provide assistance to Stores Clerks and Receiving Clerks as necessary.
13. Communicate effectively with staff members, administrators, and other contact persons utilizing courtesy and good judgment.
14. Exhibit interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
15. Maintain and model high ethical standards.
16. Represent the District in a positive and professional manner.
17. Follow Federal and State laws and regulations as well as School Board policies, rules, and procedures.
18. Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and objectives.
19. Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
20. Perform related duties as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
