Senior Piping Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer to lead the delivery of piping engineering activities across complex industrial and project environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing piping designs, specifications and calculations from concept through to detailed design, construction and commissioning. You will provide technical leadership to engineering teams, coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, and ensure that all deliverables meet project, statutory and industry requirements.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and checking piping layouts, line lists, material specifications, isometrics, equipment arrangements, stress analysis requirements and design reports. You will review vendor documentation, support the selection of valves, fittings and piping materials, and contribute to the development of 3D models and digital engineering deliverables. The role will also involve identifying design risks, managing technical queries, participating in design reviews, supporting procurement and construction teams, and providing engineering input during installation, testing, commissioning and handover. You will help monitor progress, quality, budget and technical compliance while maintaining accurate project records.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience in a senior piping engineering role. Strong knowledge of relevant international codes, standards and specifications is essential, along with practical experience in piping design, stress considerations, materials, fabrication and construction. Experience using industry-standard design and engineering software, including 3D plant design tools, is highly desirable. You will be expected to demonstrate effective leadership, sound commercial awareness and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams. A proactive approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail and a commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards are essential.
