Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nursing position located at a trauma Level 1 acute care setting. The role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, from newborns to the elderly, with varying acuities including critically ill and trauma patients. The position requires a proactive and skilled RN capable of managing multiple critical situations within a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 09/28/2026 and ending on 03/29/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that an application has been initiated; current certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC; a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least one prior travel assignment preferred; general nursing skills, with proficiency in titration of vasopressor and cardiac drips; familiarity with treating a broad spectrum of medical emergencies.
• Preferred Qualifications: SANE RN experience, previous work at a teaching hospital, experience managing critical patients and titrating complex drips.
• Special Notes: Traveler must be comfortable working in a busy ED environment with varying patient acuity levels, including trauma and cardiac cases. Orientation hours are non-billable, with 12 hours guaranteed during orientation. No specific scrub color required; tasteful solid-colored scrubs preferred.
• Other Details: No call requirement. Floating to other units is rare but possible; staff will serve as "help all" if floated.
• Patient Care Responsibilities: Respond to a wide range of emergency scenarios, including strokes, heart attacks, trauma, and critical illness cases. Manage multiple drips and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, mid-level providers, and ER techs.
• Additional Requirements: Candidates must provide the last four digits of their SSN, middle initial, requested time off, and proof of licensure. The department maintains a fast-paced environment with variable staffing needs, including minimum of three attending physicians per shift and a dedicated charge nurse team.
