About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active New Hampshire RN License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. The nursing process will be utilized in all assigned areas. The RN will assess patients upon admission. Appropriate interview techniques will be used to obtain past medical history. Current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests must be evaluated. Involvement in the planning and implementation of a written care plan is required. This will be done under the direction of a Physician. Essential Job Functions: Assessment: Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration: Requires visual acuity. Hand-eye coordination is essential. Communication/Documentation: Must maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing is required. Patient Safety: Must meet standards of job analysis form. Interpersonal: Positive interaction with team members and patients is essential. Respect for patient culture, lifestyle, religion, and age during care planning is necessary. Acceptance of constructive criticism and positive emotional channeling is expected. Qualifications: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing is necessary. A current New Hampshire license is required or eligibility to obtain it. Clinical experience is preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization is encouraged. Certification in specialty areas is preferred. Holiday coverage is required.
