Bartender The Addled Bunny | Evanston, IL The Addled Bunny is seeking experienced bartenders to join our team in downtown Evanston. We are a cocktail-forward neighborhood restaurant built around the idea that the bar and kitchen should be equally serious. Our beverage program combines classic cocktails, original drinks, clarified milk punches, thoughtful spirits, and a strong wine program with the pace and hospitality of a busy full-service restaurant. We are looking for bartenders who are technically strong, organized, genuinely hospitable, and comfortable working with volume. This is not a position for someone who views bartending as simply taking drink orders and pouring beer. At the same time, we are not interested in cocktail-bar preciousness. Drinks need to be excellent, consistent, and fast—and guests need to feel taken care of. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate: Has previous bartending experience in a quality restaurant, cocktail bar, or similarly demanding environment Has a strong working knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine Can execute recipes accurately and consistently during high-volume service Understands proper bar mise en place, sanitation, prep, stocking, and closing procedures Is comfortable batching and working with house-made cocktail components Can make recommendations and discuss beverages with guests without being pretentious Understands that hospitality matters just as much as technical skill Works cleanly, efficiently, and with a sense of urgency Communicates well with servers, fellow bartenders, kitchen staff, and management Is willing to run food, clear glassware, help another bartender out of the weeds, and do whatever else is necessary to make service work Takes standards seriously without taking themselves too seriously The Bar Program Our cocktail program includes original cocktails alongside established classics, with house-made syrups, tinctures, infusions, clarified punches, and other components produced in-house. Bartenders are expected to learn and execute established specifications rather than free-pour or alter recipes during service. We also want bartenders who are curious. There are opportunities to contribute ideas, participate in cocktail development, and deepen your knowledge of spirits, wine, and technique. We want people who show up on time, come prepared, treat coworkers well, take coaching, notice what needs to be done, and understand that a great bar is built by a team rather than by individual personalities. We have high standards, but we do not believe that good hospitality requires formality or ego. We are looking for bartenders who want to help us continue building a bar with a reputation for both excellent drinks and excellent hospitality.
