Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in the emergency department, focusing on rapid assessment, treatment, and stabilization of acute and critical conditions. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ER RN is expected to maintain certifications in advanced cardiac and trauma life support, ensuring readiness to respond to emergencies effectively. Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage in the emergency department.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to protocols.
- Provide advanced cardiac life support and trauma care interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical observations.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide pediatric and adult emergency care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington or active Multi-State license.
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification or educational equivalent.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and emergency intervention skills.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration abilities.
- Experience working in emergency department settings.
- Additional certifications related to emergency nursing or trauma care.
- Comfort with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
- Must be able to work night and mid-shifts in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
- Ability to respond quickly to trauma and pediatric emergencies.
- Work requires strong emotional resilience and ability to manage high-stress situations.
- Full-time position with shifts scheduled during night and mid-shift hours.
- Shift assignments are determined based on departmental needs and staffing requirements.
