Position Details

This position includes working night shifts in a 4x12-hour format, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Candidates should be prepared to start as soon as possible for a 13-week assignment.

Requirements

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Proficient in using a glucometer and pulse oximeter
• Ability to report abnormal findings and obtain vital signs
• Experience in safe patient transfers
• Working experience with adults and geriatric patients
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to manage a patient-to-CNA ratio of 1:10 or more
• Experience in a large facility with a minimum of 200 beds
• A minimum of 12 months of experience as a CNA in acute care within the last three years
• Must possess an active Oregon CNA license

Additional Information

All CNAs and RNs may be required to float to other departments, including West Valley Hospital, located approximately 15 minutes away. Refusing to float may result in contract termination.

Unit and Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 30 patients
• Number of Beds: 46

Skills and Responsibilities

• Monitoring abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics
• Assisting with ambulation, feeding, hygiene, and turning/repositioning of patients
• Conducting complete bed baths, mouth care, and perineal care
• Maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness in patient areas
• Documenting diet intake/calorie counts
• Utilizing electronic vital sign equipment
• Implementing pressure injury prevention measures
• Reporting changes in patient conditions effectively

Important Notes

No prior LTAC experience is acceptable. Candidates must also not have any pending or expired Oregon CNA licensure. Licensing or background issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

The facility prefers 3-4 weeks advance booking for staffing needs. Please note that candidates may be submitted to one job within the health system and may float to different units as needed.
