Cognos DeveloperStatus: OpenLocation: Cincinnati, OH, United StatesNumber of Openings: 1Role Title: Sr Cognos DeveloperRoles and Responsibilities:Implements changes consistent with business requirements and established time schedules.Interprets business requirements and produces information objects to support those requirements.Creates and maintains appropriate documentation—designs and implements standards.Develops queries, reports, packages, cubes, and end user applications to meet business needs.Uses appropriate tools and technologies to develop and test the logic changes needed by various applications programs.Troubleshoots and provides user support for data analytic issues by reviewing program code and data source for flaws in design or integrity.Develops and expands knowledge of relevant tools and technologies.Uses the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology to deliver Business Intelligence and Analytics projects through requirements gathering, scope definition, development, testing and implementation.Enhance or maintain existing applications, and the analysis of data problems and implementation of fixes for defects reported in various applications.Required Technical Skills:Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management and data warehousing and business intelligence.Exceptional organizational and planning skills, strong analytical abilities, and process orientation.Implementation experience with ETL & BI concepts and toolsAbility to interact with Information Technology and Line of Business management, and when necessary lead the planning and execution of implementations of medium-large complexity projects.Good Hands on experience Cognos reporting toolStrong problem solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills including; ability to relate numbers and calculations to ideas.Proficient using Cognos and Suite of tools including the development and applying business rules.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools.Strong programming skills including; Oracle, DB2, CSS, Java Script, jQuery, Java, SQL, Batch Program, and HTML.Strong knowledge of data gathering using Structured Query Language (SQL).Broad understanding of information technologies, their uses and applications.Strong knowledge in conceptual, logical and/or physical data modeling, including technical infrastructure.Strong knowledge of system/data security mechanisms required for internal/external presentation of client analytics via the Internet.Advanced knowledge of Data Warehouse/ Business Intelligence and Analytics project lifecycle (SDLC), tools, technologies, testing, and best practices.Proficient in translating business requirements to technical specifications.Candidates requiring visa sponsorship WILL NOT be considered at this time.
