Job Title: Oncology Infusion RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: Travel Position Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8 Hours Experience: 5 years required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required, OCN preferred, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card preferred Must-Have: Prior travel experience preferred Description: The position is for an Oncology Infusion RN in an outpatient infusion center. Nurses have a 4:1 patient ratio, ensuring no more than 4 patients at one time. The nurse will take approximately 9-11 patients per day. Patient care includes a balance of infusions, injections, and lab draws. Required drips and medications include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, and various medications for management of oncology diagnoses. Specific medications administered may include Remicade, IVIG, Ferrlecit, Venofer, Orencia, and others. Blood transfusions will also be performed, including PRBCs and platelets. Therapeutic phlebotomy may be required. The facility uses an EMR system with an oncology platform. Floating to other departments may be required. Nurses are expected to function as core staff members. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace culture and collaboration.
