Job Details Location: CDI - Oklahoma City, OK 73112 Position Type: Full Time OneCore Health is a patient-focused imaging provider dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality diagnostic imaging services. We are seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and compassionate professional who performs mammography procedures with precision, provides patient-centered care. Candidates must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology and be ARRT certified in mammography. This position is Monday through Friday with no weekends, holidays, or call. This position also gets an afternoon off each week. Job Summary Performs medical mammograms and radiographic examinations in order to diagnose disease or trauma. The technologist is responsible for programming the machine for correct density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in CQI activities. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology sufficient to position patients and locate the anatomical area to be imaged. Explain procedure to patient and family members, answering patient questions and alleviating fears. Determine most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shield patients accordingly. Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; make appropriate physician contact for intervention. Operate equipment to produce reliable and informative data. Maintain accurate examination records and pertinent information on patients. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces likelihood of medical/health care errors. Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures. Takes call according to monthly schedule after closing of the regular department hours. Complete all work before clocking out and leaving. Perform all quality control checks, as prescribed. Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc. Perform highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination; document deviation. Interact professionally with patient/family. Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operate equipment inconsistent with manufacturer’s instruction. Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population. Professional Requirements Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean. Completes annual educational requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties. Wears identification while on duty. Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled. Attends at least 3 staff meetings, reads and returns all monthly staff meeting minutes. Maintains CDI requirements, policies and standards on confidentiality. Knowledgeable of local fire and safety regulations. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital as well as the focus statement of the department. Regulatory Requirements Bachelors or Associate degree is required. One (1) year of mammography experience. Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology specializing in Mammography. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARRT and/or CRT certification. Current BCLS certification. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Proficiency with mammography equipment manufacturer’s hardware and software. Language Skills Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Skills Basic computer knowledge.
