IT Manager Job ID: 322842 Location: Paradise Valley Community College Salary: $103,328.00 - $134,326.00 annually (DOE) Job Summary Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking an IT Manager who provides leadership and oversight for the planning, direction, and implementation of endpoint support, customer care, and service operations technologies. The position manages teams responsible for desktop and end‑user support, Help Desk, IT service management tools, processes, and AV/media services. The role demonstrates a commitment to service excellence, innovation, digital transformation, customer focus, partnership, student success, integrity, and performance of job duties. The IT Manager will plan, direct, and implement strategic information technologies with an academic focus. Essential Functions 45% Provides strong leadership, direction, and support for the research, evaluation, selection, implementation, integration, and administration of enterprise educational and student success technologies to advance the college; directs service delivery and assures high‑quality academic and student technology services. 20% Leads and/or assists with strategic technology planning, policy, and procedure development, report generation, data visualization, metrics, and analyses; develops, oversees, and implements goals, objectives, projects, and programs pertaining to the adoption and effective use of technology‑based teaching and learning tools. 10% Fosters staff development; hires, manages, trains, and mentors ITS technology staff; organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates staff work; identifies training needs and disciplinary processes. 10% Develops budget requests and performs cost/benefit analyses; monitors expenditures; identifies and recommends resource allocation requests; negotiates contracts and manages vendors. 10% Builds relationships with stakeholders, including academic and student affairs professionals, faculty, leadership, industry partners, IT teams, and college personnel; engages in planning and collaboration to assess needs and implement advanced technology solutions. 5% Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field and five years of professional experience in an area related to the assignment, including two years of supervisory experience. OR an equivalent combination of degree, education, certification, and full‑time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job. Desired Qualifications Five (5) or more years of managing computer hardware, server/end‑user software, media technologies, education platforms, and technologies. Three (3) or more years of experience managing staff, vendor partners, and leading cross‑functional teams. Three (3) or more years of change management and migration experience supporting customers and projects in higher education or a related field. Four (4) or more years of experience leading multiple complex projects from research to completion and meeting deadlines. Three (3) or more years of experience with help desk systems, services, technical documentation, and operational specifications. Demonstrated experience in higher education, as a provider of academic technology services in a college or university setting. One year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years. Special Working Conditions Must possess a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver’s License or meet district minimum driving standards. Travel to campus during interview/selection may be at the candidate’s expense. MCCCD does not sponsor work visas. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require travel or work at the Black Mountain campus. Will require on‑call after standard hours, and work nights and weekends based on events and deployments. Requires repetitive motions, standing, sitting, and viewing a computer screen. May require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Benefits Nationwide medical, dental, and vision coverage.
