Work Environment

You will work onsite during home visits, ensuring that patients receive physical therapy in the comfort of their homes. This dynamic environment requires flexibility and the ability to adapt treatment plans on the fly based on each patient's home setting. While you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists within our organization, your role also includes exercising judgment and independence during therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists to conduct patient evaluations and assessments, demonstrating respect and empathy throughout the process.
• Modify and implement treatment plans and therapeutic exercises as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, prioritizing patient welfare and outcomes.
• Instruct patients on exercises and therapeutic activities, ensuring compliance and understanding by employing an empathetic approach.
• Utilize various modalities, such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, to safely alleviate pain and facilitate improved functional mobility.
• Provide education to patients and their families, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to continue exercises and rehabilitation tasks at home.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes meticulously, maintaining thorough records to track improvements and adjustments in therapy.
• Communicate effectively with the broader healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care coordination and a superior patient experience.
• Uphold accurate patient records, demonstrating attention to detail in all aspects of documentation and report creation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population, including elderly individuals recovering from surgeries, athletes rehabilitating from sports injuries, and patients with chronic pain conditions. Understanding the unique challenges each group faces is essential for providing tailored, empathetic care that meets their individual needs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a relevant setting, demonstrating strong skills in physical therapy practices.
• Proficient understanding of physical therapy principles and a passionate commitment to helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Compensation and Benefits
