Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Senior Embedded Software Engineer – C / Real-Time SystemsOxford Solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a 6- to 12-month contract opportunity with a technology organization developing safety-critical systems for the transportation industry. This hybrid position requires candidates to currently reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. C2C arrangements are not available for this position.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing embedded software in C for real-time environments. You will contribute to onboard software applications used in highly regulated, safety-focused systems.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain embedded software using CSupport onboard, real-time software applicationsTranslate system and engineering requirements into reliable software solutionsParticipate in software design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and integration testingTroubleshoot complex software and hardware interaction issuesDevelop software in accordance with safety-critical engineering standards and processesCollaborate with systems, hardware, validation, and engineering teamsCreate and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycleQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field5-8+ years of professional software development experience using CExpert-level proficiency in Embedded CStrong experience developing software for real-time embedded systemsExperience with onboard, transportation, industrial control, aerospace, defense, automotive, or other safety-critical systems is preferredFamiliarity with structured software development, testing, verification, and configuration management practicesStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skillsMust currently reside within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PAMust be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
