Our organization, in collaboration with a prominent medical institution, is on the lookout for an outstanding transplant surgeon to take on the role of Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program within the Department of Surgery. The ideal applicant will be a distinguished leader with a proven track record in clinical care, education, and academic research related to kidney transplantation.
The Kidney Transplant Program is a vital part of our abdominal transplant services, encompassing living and deceased donor kidney transplants , robotic kidney surgeries, pancreas transplants, and involvement in the National Kidney Registry . Additionally, the program collaborates with a partner VA kidney transplant program that offers living donor services to veteran patients. The chosen candidate will be dedicated to fostering the growth, quality, and innovation of the kidney transplant program, with prior leadership experience being advantageous.
As the Surgical Director, you will provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for all surgical elements of kidney transplantation. This includes managing clinical operations, educational initiatives, quality enhancement, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will work closely with departmental and service line leaders to support strategic planning, mentor faculty, uphold clinical excellence, and prepare for CMS, OPTN, and UNOS evaluations.
Applicants must have completed an ASTS-approved fellowship or equivalent training , be Board eligible or Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois at the time of hiring. Additionally, candidates should meet the qualifications set by UNOS/OPTN for primary surgeons. The successful individual will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor , with a salary that reflects their experience.
This position comes with a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes:
- Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
