Are you a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) looking to use your skills to create lasting change in your community?

The Sunshine Initiative, Inc. , a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve housing stability and financial self-sufficiency, is seeking a passionate Volunteer CPA to join our mission.

What You'll Do

As our Volunteer CPA, you will help strengthen the financial foundation of our organization by:

• Reviewing financial statements and accounting practices
• Assisting with nonprofit financial compliance and best practices
• Providing guidance on budgeting and financial planning
• Advising on grant financial reporting requirements
• Supporting preparation for audits, when applicable
• Offering recommendations to improve financial systems and internal controls
• Providing occasional financial guidance to the Executive Director and Board of Directors

Qualifications

• Active CPA license (preferred)
• Experience with nonprofit accounting is a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and integrity
• Passion for serving the community and supporting nonprofit organizations
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written)

Time Commitment

• Approximately 2–5 hours per month
• Flexible schedule
• Remote with occasional virtual meetings
