Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to play a critical role in driving architecture delivery and technical excellence across key digital platforms. This role blends deep handson technical leadership with team leadership acting as a technical authority and delivery owner for major capabilities across Dealer Origination Pricing and Credit domains.

The ideal candidate is a strong systems thinker who can lead complex initiatives endtoend mentor engineers influence standards across teams and partner with leadership to shape roadmap and execution strategy.

What youll be doing

• As a Manager you will: Lead grow and retain a team of full-stack and backend engineers hiring top talent running performance reviews coaching and creating clear paths for career development.
• Lead system design and architecture for complex distributed platforms supporting PreQual Credit Pull Pricing and Funding workflows
• Own endtoend delivery of major initiativesfrom design through production readiness and operational support .
• Drive the design and implementation of scalable faulttolerant and resilient microservices using modern cloudnative patterns.
• Partner with Product Architecture and Engineering leadership to align technical execution with business priorities and roadmap.
• Establish and influence engineering standards across APIs observability resiliency security and cloud practices.
• Lead APIfirst and eventdriven integrations across dealer portals origination systems pricing engines and downstream consumers.
• Ensure strong production readiness including monitoring alerting tracing and operational discipline.
• Coach and mentor engineers on system design code quality and operational excellence building strong technical depth across the team.
• Contribute to hiring onboarding and team scaling and manage engineers where applicable.
• Champion the use of AIassisted engineering tools to improve developer productivity and delivery quality.

What You Bring

• Bachelorʼs degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• 10 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated leadership on largescale distributed systems.
• Deep handson expertise with Java Spring Boot Spring Cloud and microservices architectures.
• Strong experience designing and deploying cloudnative applications on AWS including ECS Fargate IAM and VPC.
• Proven ability to design and operate eventdriven architectures for pricing incentives and credit workflows.
• Experience integrating credit bureaus fraud services and thirdparty data providers.
• Solid understanding of observability and operational excellence using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across teams and explain complex technical decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineers manage delivery and raise technical standards across teams.

UI / Experience Skills

• Designs APIs and service contracts with frontend performance and usability in mind.
• Collaborates closely with UI teams to support PreQual pricing and credit flows.
• Reviews frontend integration patterns to ensure efficient data exchange and reduced coupling.

Data Skills (Practical Not Heavy Analytics)

• Understands data modeling and data flow across services and events.
• Designs systems that produce cleanreliable data for downstream analytics and reporting.
• Familiar with event payload design schema evolution and backward compatibility.

Added Bonus If You Have

• AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) certification.

• Experience working within automotive or financial services ecosystems especially dealercentric platforms.
• Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock or AI/ML integrations for automation decisioning or developer productivity.
• Prior experience balancing handson technical leadership with people management responsibilities.
• Background in driving platform modernization or largescale system transformations.
