U.S. Lumber, an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a Retail Channel Outside Sales Representative to join our VALUES based organization. The Retail Channel Outside Sales Rep will report to the Sales Manager and will create demand for products in the Retail Dealer Channel. The Associate and the team will help to drive new growth. The ability to understand our business will be a major key to success in the role. We will provide an opportunity to collaborate, partner and take initiative. The Associate will prospect and generate new business as well as cold call on new opportunities to meet and exceed revenue goals. There will also be an opportunity to conduct training, host in store tabletop displays and offer technical support for dealer yards and builders across the SBP footprint. This role will have a visible presence with Pro Desk teams and key location team members. The hours and level of responsibility may vary by geographical location and/or product lines.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Call on Pro Desk at retail locations on a consistent basis for assigned accounts.
• Complete prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers through lead generation, referrals, networking, and cold calls.
• Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
• Educate current customers on new products or product lines.
• Determine new customer needs and propose appropriate level of product sales.
• Interacts with existing and new customers to increase sales of product.
• Identify and resolves any customer issues and problems.
• Travel to customers, jobsites, and trade shows as appropriate.
• May assist Corporate Accounting with collection of payment.
• Responsible for upkeep on company vehicle maintenance and professional vehicle presentation.
• Other duties, as assigned and requested by management

Required Credentials:

• Three to five years of outside sales (business-to-business) experience, with lumber industry preferred.
• A bachelor's degree or any similar combination of education and experience.
• Excellent communication skills including service-oriented telephone manner.
• Must possess good business presentation, selling principles, negotiation and closing skills.
• Self-starter, pro-active, and the ability to take initiative.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills.
• Preferred basic building materials or construction knowledge
