The company specializes in fiber‑optic installation and provides a full turnkey experience for its clients. Job Overview FiberTel is hiring a Project Manager for its SanJose, CA location. The Project Manager will oversee maintenance and construction projects in telecommunications, coordinating planning, directing, and executing activities related to the construction and maintenance of facilities and systems. Responsibilities Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer. Plan, organize, or direct activities related to the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems. Take action to address delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations. Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience working with telecommunication providers in the Bay Area. Prior construction experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable engineering programs. Ability to travel full‑time. Good written and oral communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerial and underground construction. Field experience with OSP construction. As‑built and invoicing experience. RUS experience a plus. Working Conditions This job operates in both office and field environments, with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. It routinely uses standard office equipment, and employees may spend time outside the office meeting clients or inspecting vehicles. Physical Requirements The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
