UChicago Medicine Medical Group seeks an exceptional Urgent Care Physician for two sites in Chicago: River East and Dearborn Station, in addition to Homewood, Illinois. Urgent Care Physician Roles And Responsibilities Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required Participates in specified health promotion and/or education programs as appropriate to the position Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress Maintains knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care Possesses knowledge of relevant drugs and non‑pharmaceutical patient care aids and can prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage Awareness of related accreditation and certification requirements Stays current with principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise Works independently and as part of a team Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills Required Skills And Qualifications Medical License in Illinois Board certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty Preferred: 3–5 years of experience Completed a US residency program Opportunity Highlights Urgent Care clinics perfectly co‑located with continuity primary care sites Full‑time and part‑time positions available Several schedule offerings including weekdays and weekends 100% outpatient setting MA support 1:1 ratio RN support Competitive compensation package Exceptional benefits – medical, dental, retirement, time off, and CME allowance Employment Conditions As a condition of employment, all employees are required to complete a pre‑employment physical, background check, drug screening, and comply with the flu vaccination requirement prior to hire.
