Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / PCU

Location

Artesia, NM

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation may apply

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed Medical Surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–5
• Titrate drips including insulin, amiodarone, and norepinephrine per established protocols as needed
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Mindray cardiac monitors
• Collaborate with nursing aides who assist with vitals, ADLs, I&Os, transfers, and transports; RNs perform AccuChecks
• Depending on competency, may be called upon to work in the PCU area, where patients may be on drips and invasive monitors
• Document patient care using the CPSI charting system; complete required facility orientation modules prior to floor assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry (MS-Tele) experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to titrate drips and read/interpret telemetry strips
• Flexibility with scheduling to help fill gaps; travelers are not typically placed in charge roles

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PCU or Step-Down experience strongly preferred
• Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience a plus
• Ability to maintain intubation and manage patients on invasive monitoring
• Familiarity with CPSI electronic health records
