What You’ll Be Doing CIBC’s Electronic Trading Group is a leader in electronic execution, offering algorithmic equity trading products, direct market access (DMA), and advanced trading tools for strategy implementation and best execution. We are seeking an experienced US electronic and algorithmic trading salesperson to accelerate growth of our US Electronic Trading platform. Responsibilities Originating, developing, and managing new client relationships with US long/short hedge funds and institutional asset managers, broadening client coverage and elevating the platform’s market presence. Developing, implementing, and executing effective client acquisition, coverage, and growth strategies. Proactively building and maintaining strong relationships with US hedge funds and institutional asset managers, serving as a trusted advisor and delivering tailored electronic and algorithmic trading solutions. Driving sales growth by promoting CIBC’s electronic trading capabilities, including algorithmic strategies, smart order routing, and analytics. Collaborating with trading, technology, and product teams to deliver innovative, best‑in‑class client solutions and consistently achieving revenue and activity targets. Providing market intelligence and client feedback to guide product development and platform enhancements, shaping strategic direction and go‑to‑market approach. Partnering with global sales and trading teams to ensure seamless client coverage and execution. Collaborating across the CIBC Capital Markets franchise for cross‑product market share gains. Championing responsible finance, sound governance, expense discipline, and ethical conduct. Managing compliance, operational risk controls, and liaising with Legal, Operations, Compliance, Technology, Credit and Risk teams. Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of progressive sales experience in electronic and algorithmic trading within a major investment bank, broker‑dealer, or trading platform. Proven track record of originating and managing relationships with US hedge funds and institutional asset managers. Deep expertise in electronic trading products, market microstructure, and algorithmic strategies. Established network and strong reputation among buy‑side trading and investment professionals. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with success in building and scaling businesses. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Flexible schedule and ability to travel regularly as required. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. US regulatory registrations (Series 7, 63, etc.) required; Canadian registrations (CSC, DFC, CPH, etc.) are an asset. Compensation & Benefits Expected salary: $275,000 (New York, NY market) based on experience, qualifications and location. Eligible for incentive compensation and discretionary bonus components.
