Requisition Information Requisition ID: 295339 Relocation Authorized: National - Single Telework Type: Part-Time Telework Work Location: Houston, TX; Chandler, AZ; Reston, VA Project Overview Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. The M&T unit serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets, and includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and other global locations. Job Summary In this role you will plan, coordinate and perform complex civil engineering tasks to produce design and estimates for projects within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit. You will develop, evaluate, coordinate, or modify design, drawings, specifications and requisitions for earthworks, stormwater and drainage infrastructure, roads, paving, fences and other civil works under the supervision of an Engineering Group Supervisor. You will supervise the work of engineers under your lead. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil engineering aspects are met. This position is designated as part-time telework and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities Plans and conducts independent civil engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of civil engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium-size project or assignment in support of a global business unit. Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), Design Control Check List (DCCL), and Design Review Notices (DRNs). Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the assigned project. Originates and checks complex civil engineering deliverables, such as drainage and road design calculations, specifications, and material requisitions. Develops conceptual designs for civil engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements. Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting. Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data. Mentors civil engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development. Leads constructability reviews. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
